�PM�s SC appearance to help remove misunderstandings�

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Tuesday said that the nation has appreciated the prime minister’s decision to personally appear before the apex court and this will help remove misunderstandings.

Talking to the media at the parliament house, he said the government always respected the apex court and implemented its decisions. He said the opposition was using various tactics to snatch a winning majority from the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) in the upcoming Senate elections, adding parliament would complete its tenure and elections would be held on time.

The interior minister said on the one hand the PML-N was claiming to defend the democratic system in the country while on the other it had taken what he claimed was a fake memo issue to the apex court. He said US businessman Mansoor Ijaz had toppled the Benazir Bhutto government and the present memo issue was continuation of the conspiracy.
