Young doctors association stages protest

RAWALPINDI: Scores of doctors staged a protest on Tuesday against the abduction of their colleague Dr Ehsan Bahadur, General Secretary, Young Doctors Association Hazro here at Rawalpindi Press Club.

The doctors were carrying banners inscribed with slogans demanding his release.

Speaking on the occasion, the Young Doctors Association President Rawalpindi Dr Umer Saeed said that the doctors’ community condemns his abduction.

He demanded of the Punjab Government for early recovery of the abducted doctor else the doctors would launch a countrywide campaign.

He alleged there was no security of doctors and they are working under mental stress and agony.

Umer said that doctors are being murdered in Balochistan, Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab.

The President Young Doctors Association Hazro Dr Jahanzeb said that armed men from kidnapped Ehsan Bahadur from doctors’ colony.

He said that police is not taking the case seriously and no action has been taken for the recovery of the kidnapped doctor.

YDA senior vice chairman and spokesman Rural Dr Imran Younas urged the chief minister Punjab to direct DCO Attock DPO Attock to take action for recovery of the kidnapped. (APP)
