Sports Festival to be held on Jan 23

RAWALPINDI: A sports festival, being organized on the directives of Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, to promote healthy activities among the youth would be held from January 23 to 30.

The festival would help hunt talent in games like Football, Cricket, Volleyball, Badminton, Athletics, Judo karate, bicycling, weight- lifting and Kabadi.

In all districts the Administration, elected representatives, PML(N)office bearers and workers should make joint efforts to make this mega event a success, this was stated in a meeting held at DCO's office.

The meeting was presided by MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbassi alongwith DCO Saqib Zafar and attended by MNAs Malik Ibrar Ahmed, sports and education officials.

Muhammad Hanif Abbassi directed that Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) and Anjuman-e-Tajran be included to help display banners at important places.

The DCO informed the meeting that construction of Hockey Stadium at Muslim High School is being completed while Cricket Stadium Jamia High School Dhoke Kashmirian will be completed by January 23and will be ready to hold matches there. (APP)
